These guidelines ensure our community remains a positive space where food lovers can share honest opinions and restaurants receive fair treatment. By participating, you agree to follow these rules.
Vote based on your genuine dining experiences and preferences. Don’t create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings. Don’t accept payment or incentives to vote in a specific way. If you’re affiliated with a restaurant, disclose it in any public commentary.
Treat other community members with respect, even when you disagree. No harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language. Remember there are real people behind every restaurant. Constructive criticism is welcome, but personal attacks are not.
Vote on restaurants you’ve actually visited. Consider all aspects: food quality, service, atmosphere, and value. Don’t downvote competitors to boost your favorite restaurant. Give restaurants a fair chance — everyone has off days.
We have sophisticated detection systems to prevent manipulation. The following are strictly prohibited: using bots or automated tools to cast votes; coordinating voting campaigns to artificially boost or suppress rankings; creating fake accounts or using VPNs to circumvent voting limits; and sharing account credentials or voting on behalf of others.
Don’t share other people’s personal information without consent. Report suspicious activity or violations of these guidelines. Keep your account credentials secure. Be cautious about sharing your own personal information publicly.
The following content is not allowed on FoodRank: spam, advertising, or promotional content (except in designated sponsor areas); illegal content or activities; graphic violence, gore, or disturbing content; sexual or suggestive content; and misinformation or false claims about restaurants.
Violations of these guidelines may result in: a warning or notification; temporary restriction of voting privileges; permanent account suspension; or removal of all votes and activity from the platform.
The severity of the response depends on the nature and frequency of the violation. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion.
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it. We review all reports and take appropriate action. You can report issues through the report button on any content, our contact form for more serious issues, or direct email to our moderation team.
We may update these guidelines as our community grows and evolves. Continued use of FoodRank constitutes acceptance of the current guidelines.
